I secretly wanted to be an artist since I was a little girl, but always felt too intimidated to try.  My other passion is science, and I ended up with my PhD in chemistry. I had a fulfilling career until having three wild children. Now that I and my wildlings are getting older, I’m less easily intimidated and ready to give art a try.

I grew up in the middle of the woods, and have always felt a deep connection to nature. I discovered botanical art about two years ago, and I immediately fell in love. Now I’m obsessively trying to learn as much as I can and grow as an artist. I discovered Heeyoung’s work early on, and became a huge fan. I was overjoyed when I realized she started teaching online because of the pandemic. Thank you, Heeyoung, for your unique holistic teaching style and for shaping us into better artists.
