Sinéad Carus is a self-taught artist currently focusing on illustration, photography and a combination of the two mediums through surface pattern design. A lifelong resident of Grayslake and avid nature enthusiast, her artistic inspiration usually begins in early morning hikes along the forest preserve trails of Lake County or in the evening as she waters her garden or kayaks as the sun sets. Her father is a native of Chicago, her mother a native of Ireland and her heritage often pops up in her work. Her main artistic goal is to stir a positive emotion in the viewer. To take them on a journey of nostalgia or to help them find a sense of home.
