The Art of Jeanne Garrett
January 19 - February 23, 2020
The natural world is the subject of much of Jeanne Garrett's photography. This project showcases environmentally themed images combined with stitching. Through the use of textiles, Garrett captures the rhythms, shapes, and delicate patterns she finds in photos of the natural world. She looks for images that best interpret her creative vision -- most of which have some element of continuous movement. After contemplating each image, she begins to sew. Through this process, she combines the hand work of her childhood with the technology of today and transcends the line between photography and fiber arts. Join us as we open this incredible exhibition, and learn more about the artist behind the work during our free Artist Talk.
