About Joann Dinneen:

I finally think I know what artists mean when they say they say what inspires them. My inspiration is seeing all the native plants in my garden and the drive to paint them interacting with the pollinators that are drawn to them. My garden is in my life to enjoy and to teach and to paint. I feel I am doing a small but essential part to restore the environment as Doug Tallamy teaches us, 'one yard at a time' and by painting them, I am spreading the word about the importance and interconnectedness of native plants, their pollinators and the survival of our planet.
My teacher Heeyoung Kim, all the staff and Board of Directors at Brushwood Center, my husband Rick and my two cats Eleanor and Teddy Roosevelt are my inspirations, too.
