Fused Glass inspires me. I love creating organic shapes and find nature is a constant inspiration. I feel like I'll never stop learning with this medium and I can't imagine anything better than continuing to play with glass.
Opening up my kiln after hours of firing is like Christmas. It's about mixing varying shapes and colors of coe 90 or 96 glass, often combining dichroic glass with textured glass to get a 3D effect and not knowing what the result will be until I open up that kiln door. And when it works, it's glorious. I'm an award-winning fused glass and mixed media artist from Chicago, IL who works out of my home studio with my two helper cats, Ziggy and Jax. I've been accepted by over 30 juried art shows and won several best in show titles. My work is in art galleries in Illinois, Indiana and Connecticut and has traveled to shows all over the country. |
