About Corinne Harper:
Boozhoo. My Ojibwe name is Whitefeather, and my English name is Cori Harper.  I was born and raised on the Leech Lake Band of Ojibwe reservation in Northern Minnesota, currently living in Bemidji, and grew up learning our Anishinaabe traditions from my family. A huge part of those traditions were seasonal activities like hunting, fishing, and one of my most favorites, our annual family sugarbush. From my parents, they taught us to do many different types of art, including sewing and beading. It has been over 15 years since I learned to bead by using seed beads and sinew with my dad. I have worked on honing my skills as a beadwork artist since then, and my most recent large pieces include fully beaded crowns for various communities. I have continued sharing our Ojibwe traditions with my children Landon, Tavion, Easton, and Kharion. Landon and Tavion have both learned to bead and have started small pieces of their own. I would like to give a chi-miigwech to the Brushwood Center at Ryerson Woods for holding the Holiday Nature-Inspired Art Market.
