About Kathleen Warren
|
I make abstract textile collages that remind us of being in nature.
The beauty of nature gives us a sense of calm. I try to recreate that through my art. You will see places that inspire me throughout all my art; sunrises over a lake 🌅, clouds in a blue sky 🌤, a forest 🌲or prairies starting to bloom 🌱🌻. My creative process involves taking apart discarded clothes like old shirts and jeans. I paint these materials to invoke the colors and textures of nature. Then I cut the painted fabric and sew the pieces together. The last step is to add thread embellishment by hand and sewing machine. |
