Jean Meilinger is a botanical artist who works primarily in watercolor, pen & ink and graphite. She finds the technical aspect of working with key identifiers as one of the most enjoyable parts of botanical art. When working with her chosen materials and subjects Jean finds the process to be very meditative, because for her, it cannot be hurried. Jean is a member of the Reed-Turner Woodland Artists’ Circle and the American Society of Botanical Artists. She lives in Lake Barrington, Illinois with her husband, John, and their 3 cats.
