About Dot's Recycling:
Karen Hoyer has been performing as Dot for years but she's a not-so-secret crafter who grew up with her dad's philosophy of "this'll come in handy someday..." and RECYCLING is her craft of choice. Over the past 18 months she’s used her knitting skills to fight pandemic panic. With a desire to reach out to friends and family plus baskets of leftover yarn from knitting dozens of socks she began creating gifts of tiny “Bluebirds of Happiness.” Soon the color range expanded and her birds began to land on spoons and stakes, to dangle from the ceiling, and to perch on all sorts of sculptures. Each bird is one-of-a-kind based on whatever colors came up when she reached her hand into the basket of yarn! The birds kept multiplying so it seems Brushwood is the ideal spot for them to find new homes. We think they are ideal gifts for anyone who needs a touch of beauty, a word of quirky advice, or a reassuring token of love and friendship.
