About The Birdsong Workshop – Lisa Maier

The Birdsong Workshop is run by Lisa Maier, with the help of her husband, Christopher, and her mother, Debbie. Together, they create an assortment of 100% handmade fabric crafts and wood-working items as well as cultivate honey and wildflower teas. Ornament designs are original are completely handmade. Reclaimed and recycled materials are used whenever possible.
The Birdsong Work shop was inspired by Lisa’s love of birds and by her great grandmother Dorothy, an avid sewist who taught her how to work a needle. Lisa started making her beloved bird ornaments to help pay for her restoration efforts at her half acre property ‘Twin Oaks’ located in Holiday Hills, IL. Aside from converting to native planting to support birds, pollinators and other wildlife, Twin Oaks is used as a community garden classroom to inspire others to create their own natural oasis where wildlife can thrive.
Aside from crafting, Lisa is an avid birder and native gardener, Vice President of McHenry County Audubon and a mentor for the WPPC’s “Natural Garden in your Yard” program.
