He has served as energy advisor to major firms and governments in 70+ countries, authoring more than 30 books and 600 papers. Educated at Harvard and Oxford, he has received the Right Livelihood Award, MacArthur Fellowship, Ashoka Fellowship, and the Heinz Award among many others.
JUDY HILL LOVINS
Judy Hill Lovins is an international landscape photographer whose mission is to “inspire and renew us, and thus encourage us to visit Earth’s special places and understand our role as stewards of nature’s treasures.” Judy is a photographic fine artist, consultant, and corporate art designer, and has counseled private and corporate art collectors for nearly five decades.
The Symposium memorializes the significant civic legacy of Hermon Dunlap and Ellen Thorne Smith, who eventually donated their land and cabin to help form Ryerson Woods. All funds raised from the evening directly benefit Brushwood Center's nature-inspired art, wellness, and educational programs. Our audience spans the region, including veterans, children, families, business people, and others looking to the arts as a pathway for connecting to nature. By supporting the Smith Nature Symposium, you help to make these programs possible.
