REFLETS DANS L’EAU 1 - MAKTUB

Picture
This painting is a dual panel acrylic on bamboo paper, the image taken from a painting I did in 2010 called MAKTUB, which in Arabic means, “It is Written The front layer is a protective acrylic window and mimics the scene in the background through a series of geometric forms that to me represents the music of Debussy’s “Reflections on Water.” Conductor Vladimir Kulenovic told me once that Debussy’s compositions were said to be musical Impressionism. Although, Debussy bristled at the term. He felt that when he wrote music he was more aligned with poets and writers, such as Paul Verlaine, who was not only his friend, but a major influence on the Symbolist Movement. I, simply
wanted to capture the reflections of the sunrise on the water.

Dual Panel Acrylic on Bamboo Paper with Acrylic on Acrylic, 30” x 22,.” Click here to inquire about purchasing this piece.
