These woods are all locally sourced from Chicago and the many trees you walk by every day. The lighter spalted maple provides a wonderful example of how fungi an trees can live and work together in harmony, and the purple-pink of the cedar contrasts it so well. Like many of my pieces, this one I can tell you precisely which corner of the street in Chicago these trees lived.
