¡Hola! Wiggleworms celebrates being bilingual! Rooted in traditional folk songs from Spanish-speaking countries around the world, the class is alive with singing, dancing, and musical discovery. Children and their families delight in the musical play of Wiggleworms while they explore the Spanish language and experience the joy of learning language through music.
As your little one grows, together you’ll learn our core songs—a beautiful collection of traditional and contemporary sing-along songs. Expect this class to be full of movement, interaction, and musical play with puppets, shakers, and props as children explore their emerging language skills.
If you are bilingual or just learning the Spanish language, come delight in this musical experience with your little one. You will go home singing together in Spanish. Everyone is welcome to sing and dance!

About the Instructor:
Karen Girolami Callam Karen Girolami Callam has been singing, teaching, and performing all kinds of music for many years, from bilingual children’s classes to musical theater to her own jazz trio to classical choral works to liturgical cantoring. She works with teachers and students in preschool classrooms to build confidence, comfort, and a joyful repertoire of music and movement. Karen is fully bilingual and loves to speak as well as sing Spanish in her classes for a full immersion experience. Her warmth and groundedness ease the most reluctant participant and bring families back session after session. Karen performs regularly with the Chicago Artists Chorale, and has sung with the Apollo Chorus and the Chicago World Music Chorale. Karen co-created two CDs of Spanish-language children's music with Puerta Abierta Preschool and taught Everybody Move bilingual children’s music/movement classes for years. She has lived in Spain for three years of her adult life, most recently with her family of five, where she sang with Sevilla's opera house, Teatro de la Maestranza. Karen majored in communications and Hispanic studies at Northwestern University and runs a 20 year-old bilingual communications consultancy working with nonprofits, schools, and foundations. She lives in Evanston with her husband and their three children.
