About Handgathered Art and Anni Schwabe:
Anni is a self-taught mixed media artist. Her art portfolio consists of but is not limited to jewelry making, wire work, soldering, sewing, sketching, assemblage, encaustic and book binding with a strong I can make that attitude.
Anni has been teaching workshops nationally for 7 years. The workshops she teaches are all created by herself. She has made Walnut ink from her own Black Walnut tree, that she also taught as a workshop. She is married and has two adult children. She and her husband live in Deerfield, IL in a 100-year-old home, along with a large tortoise. For the past 28 years she has volunteered at Lake County Forest Preserve, Ryerson, with a now deceased 33-year-old Red-tailed Hawk and a Screech Owl. The forest and nature play a huge part in her life and is more often than not depicted in her art. |
