Nature in Concert
Tides: A Prelude
Four Dates: April 17, 18, 24 & 25, 2021
Join Arica Hilton and Vladimir Kulenovic for the first of Brushwood Center's new "Nature in Concert" series.
Begin at your ticketed time at Brushwood Center with a personalized tour of Tides: A Prelude with artist Arica Hilton. After your tour, the group will move to the Riverwoods Village Hall (2.5 miles) where you will experience an intimate multi-media concert, blending a reading of Arica Hilton's poems, A Time To Heal, Hieroglyph and I Heard an Oak Tree by the artist, and an exclusive piano performance by internationally renown conductor and classical musician, Vladimir Kulenovic. This progressive event will last a total of approximately two hours including the 45 minute concert at the Riverwoods Village Hall. |

Exploring the spectrum of color, shape and frequency of sound, Hilton and Kulenovic delve deep into the meaning of the TIDES in a direct and indirect menu of materials, both real and metaphorical. Experience this unique fusion between the art forms alongside the artists themselves. Together, we we will navigate this multi-dimensional journey through live performances of Bach, Beethoven, Debussy and Scriabin, the poetry of Paul Verlaine and Hilton, as a “prelude" that translates into Hilton’s paintings through her love of mathematics and physics, and the exploration of the relation between sound, color and form.
Two available start times per date at 1pm and 3pm. Audiences will be limited to 15 people per event, and CDC recommended restrictions such as face masks and social distancing will be required.
