James GilsonJames Gilson is an active duty U.S. Navy sailor finishing the final months of his enlistment with Brushwood Center through the SkillBridge Internship Program. Although having worked in military intelligence, he is pivoting his skillset to focus on the arts and environmental science, and will be pursuing a Bachelor’s in environmental studies following his discharge from active duty.
Prior to enlisting, James was heavily involved in creative pursuits. Some of his accomplishments and accolades include receiving the Crystal Pillar from the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences Student Production Awards for his role in the production of a live broadcast of a school basketball game, producing and appearing in the best-in-state school radio talk show of 2017, being selected for the Indiana All-State High School Jazz Ensemble, and the production of his band’s EP (Kill Twins - The Early Tapes). As a lifelong musician and native of Lake County, Indiana, James is excited to return to the midwest and share his love of music and nature with Brushwood Center and the community. |
