Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, the Brushwood house is an architectural treasure. Inspired by a 1840s Greek Revival home in Marengo, Illinois, Brushwood was lovingly constructed in 1942 with salvaged materials and period details to closely mirror the historic original. The stately home with a columned portico was designed by Ambrose Cramer, a devotee of the great estate architect, David Adler.
