About Marcia Glenn:
It is always hard to have a favorite time of year for painting.
From the winter solstice, when rose hips brighten the bare branches, through the winter months when pine cones poke out from long needled fir trees. We see winter birds brighten our woods on cold, grey days.
Early spring brings skunk cabbage around the marsh, unfurling ferns and all the spring ephemerals. We must paint quickly because they are fleeting.
Full summer abounds in all its glory, full of color and a buzz with a whole host of butterflies, bees, hummingbirds and other pollinators filling our gardens.
On to autumn, when the pokeweed starts to ripen on the edge of the forest and the cedar waxwing grows fat on the berries. The amber grasses blow in the breeze competing with golden rod and asters for the last rays of sun.
As we complete another journey around our big old sun, we look forward to new discoveries in the world of botany, nature and art.
